PACK 201 ORGANIZATION

Cub Scouts is part of the national Boy Scouts of America (BSA) organization and is structured for boys & girls in grades K-5.

PACK 201 is sponsored by The Parents of St. Pauls Lutheran School which oversees the Pack's charter and volunteer leadership.

BSA provides the program format and training for parent volunteers to run each Den and the Pack.

Children are grouped into Dens by age. Each Den has a parent Den Leader that coordinates that Den's activities during Den meetings and "Go-See-It" activities. Boys & girls get leadership experience by rotating "Denner" responsibilities of assiting the Den Leader.

Different ages have different ranks. As you go from Lion (age 5) to Webelos Scout (age 10), you learn new things and new skills that you use to meet new challenges as you get older.

  • Lions. Kindergartener's join a Lion Cub den, where each child works with an adult partner on the requirements to earn his Lion badge.
  • Tigers. First-grader's join a Tiger Cub den, where each child works with an adult partner on the requirements to earn his Tiger Cub badge.
  • Wolfs. Second-grader's graduate into a Wolf den. They go to weekly den meetings on their own, but their families still help them work on the requirements for the Wolf badge.
  • Bears. Third grader's are members of a Bear den. They also work with their families to do the requirements for the Bear badge, but boys this old have enough knowledge and skill to take on more of the work by themselves.
  • Webelos Scouts. Fourth and fifth grader's become Webelos Scouts. Webelos Scouts do more advanced activities to get ready to graduate into Boy Scouting.

The Pack programming is planned and overseen by the Pack Committtee of BSA registered adults and delivered by BSA registered Cubmaster and Den Leader adult volunteers.
