Service Projects Performed



Scouting was founded on the premise of doing a Good Turn daily. Community service is very important in the character-building process and, as Scouts, we have made the commitment to give back to our communities.

In 2016. Our Troop performed over 1900 hours in service of which 940 were for Eagle Projects.

Assisted with cleanup and busing tables for the St. Benedict Women Club Annual Chili Dinner, February 2016

Assisted Saint Benedict Church with Lenten Soup Supper, March 2016

Performed clean up at the Cooper Bridge Run, April 2016

Assisted our Charter Organization for Service Saturday, April 2016

Assisted Habitat for Humanity Restore to raise community awareness by delivering over 4000 bottles of soap to communities in Mount Pleasant Spring and Summer 2016

Created small gifts and wrote letters for our Charter Organization's homebound parishioners. June 2016

Built benches for Palmetto County park for an Eagle Project February 2016

Created benches and other restorations at Bulls Island for an Eagle Project, June 2016

Assisted Etiwan District with Summer Cub Camp, June 2016

Assisted with Eagle project to create/build/install fire pits, install benches and camp restoration at BP Grove Camp Site , August 2016

Assisted with Etiwan District Sea Spot Run Cub scout fishing derby,  October 2016

Cleaned up the trail and the area near the Eagle cage at Birds of Prey facility, November 2016

Assisted Seacoast church with their annual Turkey Fry dinner for the Dream Center. We helped Cook, clean 450 turkeys and hundreds of pounds of potatoes and string beans, it fed over 4000 people, November 2016

Participated and assisted with the Christmas Party for Exceptional Children at St. Benedict Church- a holiday party for children with Downs Syndrome and Autism, Dec. 2016

 

In 2015 - Our Troop performed over 2300 hours in service, of which 1400 was for Eagle Projects.

St. Benedict Parish -Woman's Club Annual Chili Dinner 2/8/2014 -Assisted with busing tables and clean-up.

 

St Benedict - Feb 2014.Service Saturday - The Frontiersman patrol assisted the Parish with clean-up at the church and grounds.

 

Cooper Bridge Run - April 5 2014 - The troop helped set up the water stations and distribute water to the 40,000 runners. Then we cleaned upall the crushed cups in the street.

 

St Benedict - April 15, 2014 - During Spring break our scouts helped rake and clean up the grounds for our Charter Org.

 

Etiwan District Cub Scout Day Camp. June 16 - 21 - 16 member of the troop volunteered 524 hours this week to give cubs a great scoutingexperience.

 

Honor Flight - 9/6/2014 - Scouts welcomed home U.S. Veterans at Charleston Int'l Airport.

 

Annual Beach Sweep -9/21/2014 - Lake Moultrie 12 scouts, 4 adults,2.5 hours, 37 bags of garbage plus other items like tires. Lots of FUN!

ECCO FOOD Drive - October 19 - Collect food from neighbors and deliver to ECCO. We collected 584 pounds!!!!!

Thanksgiving Day - Food for Friends.  Scouts and Venturers of 529 assisted Seacoast Ministries with preparing a Thanksgiving Feast.11/27/2013

 

Scouting for Food Parade - Assisted with Cubscout Pack 470 with Scouting for food by decorating their parade float and collecting canned food.Collected 2000 Pounds and $400 in gift cards for ECCO Food Bank and Meals on Wheels.

The next day we walked in the Mount Pleasant Parade- Assisted with Cubscout Pack 470 with Scouting for food by walking in the parade and collecting canned food. 12/2013
