Troop 308 Fishing Outing

One of the most popular Troop 308 outings this year was the fishing outing on Harsens Island.  Special thanks to CMac's family for hosting us at their beautiful home on the South Channel facing Canada.  13 Scouts and 5 adults caught small mouth bass, rock bass, perch, pike, and huge catfish.  We have put together a slide show of all the fun.

If you don't have much experience with watching You Tube videos here are the instructions to watch it in full 720p High Def resolution and full screen on your computer.

1) Double click on link below and it will launch the You Tube video.
2) In the You Tube black video screen, click on the pause "II" button, on the lower left side, and it will pause the video while you change the play back settings.
3) On the right bottom of the You Tube video click on the small gear icon and it will give you the play back options and select 720p HD
4) To the right of the gear icon at the bottom right is a small box.  Click on that and it will make the You Tube video full computer screen.
5) Click on the play button, triangle facing right, again at the lower left of the You Tube screen and it will play in full 720P HD full computer screen.
6) After watching the video press the ESC key on your keyboard which should be upper left and it will return to the small size video to exit.

Watch all the fun Troop 308 scouts have camping

Troop 308 has a new You Tube site with videos from our outings.

We would recommend watching the “New Scout Skills Outing” video first.  It shows what the new scouts learn, on their first Boy Scout outing, from the older scouts.  Then I’d watch the “Troop 308 Chopped” video.  This was rated by our scouts as one of our best Troop 308 outings.  The summary of the videos are below:

Come see all the fun Boy Scout Troop 308 has on all of their boy led outings.  Here are some great videos to enjoy on our Troop You Tube site:

1.      New Scout Skills Outing - BSA Troop 308 - Walled Lake, MI - http://youtu.be/XTAbSB7i2WM

Boy Scout Troop 308, Walled Lake, MI, has a "New Scout Skills Outing" every April.  This video shows how Baden-Powell's "boy led" process really works in teaching skills to new scouts.  Watch all the fun of your first Boy Scout outing... knives, hatchets, fire…

2.      Troop 308 Chopped - BSA Troop 308 - Walled Lake, MI - http://youtu.be/Wl-26AEg5sk

If you are a fan of the Food Network TV show "Chopped" you will enjoy this video. "Troop 308 Chops" was our mystery meal outing.  Our Boy Scout Troop camped at High Ridge Orchard on the south side of Lake Charlevoix, Michigan.  The scouts were divided into two patrols.  Just like the TV show "Chopped" each patrol was given a list of ingredients and they had to use all the ingredients to create a unique meal.  Each meal was voted on by our Senior Patrol Leader and three adult leaders.  After cooking two breakfasts, a lunch and a dinner the vote count was down to one vote out of 16 over four meals.  And the winner is...

3.
Troop 308 Backpacking - BSA Troop 308 - Walled Lake, MI - http://youtu.be/FiwmBvePFRI
